Anchorage
Police Department, K-9 POLICE DOGS
Police
dogs are the invisible eyes and ears of
the police in crime detection, prevention
and investigation. As an aide of detection
at the prevention stage, police dogs are
employed as detectors of bombs in suspected
sabotage cases and of narcotics in suspected
drug trafficking. Police dogs are proven
to be as helpful as fingerprint experts
in identifying criminals, their hideouts
and stolen properties. Police
dogs are an integral part of a well-equipped
police force anywhere in the world.
